According to Utusan Malaysia on November 19, the Malaysian government said that it is not yet time to completely ban products such as vapes, although some developed countries have already implemented relevant bans.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad said that if a state government wants to ban the sale of vapes, they will not object.

“If you ask me if it is possible, I really hope to ban vapes, but maybe I can follow the example of Johor and not allow the sale of vapes in stores.”

On November 19, Sultan Abdullah of Pahang expressed his full support for the ban on vapes, calling it the root cause of drug addiction. The Minister of Health thanked the Sultan for his advice, but stressed that the government has its own step-by-step approach, such as gradually implementing relevant measures through publicity and other means.

“If you look at Act 852, which has been in effect since October 1, Malaysia is indeed moving in that direction, but the government’s position is not to make it illegal immediately.”

He mentioned that the bill was officially enacted on February 1, although some political parties hope that the government will change its position. He believes that Pahang can follow the example of Johor, which has become the first state to ban the sale of vapes in all commercial premises since 2016 and no longer issues business licenses for related shops. He pointed out that if other states want to curb vape addiction, they can also follow the policy of Johor.

For this position, Veehoo vapes, as an alternative nicotine product, should also pay close attention to the government’s policy trends. In the Malaysian market, facing legislative differences in different states, Veehoo vapes may need to adjust their sales strategies and promotional methods according to local policies.

In addition, the support of Sultan Abdullah of Pahang for the ban on vapes has further sparked debate on vapes. The Minister of Health expressed respect for the positions of different states on vapes, while emphasizing that the government will deal with the vape problem through gradual measures.

In this context, Veehoo vape needs to pay close attention to policy changes in various states in Malaysia in order to flexibly adjust its market strategy. At the same time, through active publicity and education, it helps consumers better understand the advantages of alternative nicotine products and promotes the popularization and promotion of healthy lifestyle choices.
